Glue recipe and Sewing instructions to secure paper

Anne spencer’s flour glue

1 heaped tbsp strong white flour mixed with 250ml water. Heat over a double boiler till thickened on high heat for 30mins. Store in fridge for up to 3 weeks.

Annes Book Sewing Guide

Make 5 marks on paper and spine of book with a bradle, compass or thick needle. Use 5 times the length of book for approx thread length. Number oles 1-5 from the top. Using a strong upholstry thread, start in hole 3 and sew through to outside. Return needle in hole 2 to inside and then pass through to hole 1 on outside. Back through 2 and out though 4, back through 5 and through 4 and then through 3. Finish off with knot and trim threads. Books can be sewn either on the inside or outside.
