Mixing Colours with Kevin Sculley
Using a colour wheel and basic colour theory will help in creating blended colours using 3 basic primary colours - Cyan or process blue, process yellow and Magenta.
Secondary colours are blends of the primary colours on a 50% of each colour. Bear in mind that different branded paints blend differently.
Mixing Magenta and yellow creates red
Blue and yellow creates Green
Magenta and blue creates purple
Tertiary Colours are blends between the secondary colours eg yellow and purple creates a brown, but brown is also acheived from red and green.
Shadows of items are created with yellow and a tint of purple.
Once the ground of a painting has been washed, outline shapes in a non soluble coloured pencil eg childs colouring crayon.
